The Year of the Phoenix was the theme for the 2014 Lewis Ginter Annual Splendor Under Glass fundraising gala in honor of outgoing and retiring president and CEO Frank Robinson. This gala was also celebrating the 30th anniversary of Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Peyton Wells was a co-chair for this event. The event was attended by more than 330 guests and raised more than $254,000 to support the nonprofit garden’s educational mission.
Elements of fire and air were incorporated into the evening, with fire dancers in front of the conservatory and an air dancer suspended on a ribbon from the tent ceiling. Guests were thanked as “key to the garden’s success” and presented with token keys and a chance to purchase and win special packages featuring items such as trips, fine jewelry and a party in the conservatory. Some of Peyton’s signature works from that event are featured here. This event was also thoroughly covered by The Gracious Posse.
